A FREE Event to Avoid: Red Bull/Vodka Tasting at Eastside West

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

"Yo, let's drink some RBVs, Bro!!!" -Your Boyfriend

99% of the time, we here at BASGDWS like to share with you suggested things to do. Usually this is stuff we’d be going to anyway and we want you to come too because we love you and we’re all about reciprocation. (There’s also the theory that we’re a top-secret government project used to gentrify two of our country’s major urban centers, but I don’t buy into that.)

Anyway, if you’ve lived in San Francisco for more than a month then you should be aware by now of the stigma that comes along with bars in the Marina. On Union St, between Fillmore to Laguna, you can see the whole spectrum of fucktardedness out on display any day of the week. It’s like a Disneyland prop version of College every day of the year.  So you probably don’t need me to tell you why you should definitely avoid going to Eastside West ever between 6:30pm and 8:30pm tonight for free Red Bull/Vodka tastings. And certainly don’t RSVP. That would be a disaster.

Now that you’re not going to Eastside West to have a flight of Vanilla, Raspberry, and Cherry Vodka-Red Bulls while your Frat Brothers punch each other in the nuts (or whatever), you’re free to go to your usual neighborhood bar, have a nice time talking with the staff and fellow patrons, and maybe someone will find you interesting enough to buy you a drink.

FREE Red Bull/Vodka* Tasting
6:30pm – 8:30pm
Eastside West
3154 Fillmore st. @ Barf Ave.
Details over at onlyinsanfrancisco.com if you really want ’em.

(*Also, is that really how you write out the name of that drink? With a slash? Gross!)

Andrew Dalton - Aggressive Panhandler

Andrew Dalton - Aggressive Panhandler

Andrew is an East Coast transplant from Virginia hamming it up in San Francisco without any intention of leaving. Having worked every typical job from Bike Shop Employee to Bartender to Ad Agency Hotshot, to Dotcom Layoff he now busts his ass covering the "weird things to do" beat for gracious local audiences at SFAppeal.com and rallies the Western Addy/Lower Haight/Panhandle neighborhoods into action at AggressivePanhandler.com. His work was published in a real, paper magazine one time. One day he might even figure out how to make money from it.
