Super Cheap Dance Classes at ODC Dance Commons

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

You too can look like this!!

How many times have you been sitting around in your apartment watching reruns of “Intervention” on that shitty Ikea couch that your roommate broke (yes, broke) who knows how many years ago, but has never fixed and thought, “You know, I love watching this guy ruin his life by smoking crack, but what I really wish I was doing right now is learning how to clog!”

Good news, my clogging-challenged friend:  ODC Dance Commons in the Mish has an awesome program this summer called the Blue Plate Special, which features a weekly global dancing class for only SIX BUCKS.  That’s almost FREE.  It’s running through September, but the classes coming up include clogging, blues dancing, bhangra (I want to do this one, but I might as well just ask my super Indian Indian friend to teach me), and Afro-Cuban modern.

Check out the Blue Plate Special page for specific dates and times and get that booty shaking now.  Because I said so.

Blue Plate Specials — Weekly Global Dance Lessons at ODC Dance Commons Varied Days of the Week Through September 351 Shotwell St. (btwn 17th & 18th) $6 per lesson

Christy Jovanelly - Cheapskate Commentator

When Christy announced she was leaving her family's Southern California home and moving to San Francisco, her mom said, "Have fun in that den of sin." This is the only (however sarcastic) advice Christy has ever taken from her mom, who also told her to join eharmony.com and cover her eyes during sex scenes in movies. Christy puts her creative writing degree to good use by locating the typos on Chinese food menus and spends most of her time challenging friends to all-you-can-eat contests and trying to get that one bartender at Zeitgeist to smile.
