Miss Last Saturday? Special Hard Frenching This Sunday at Thee Parkside

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

The merry crew of Hard French is pulling up anchor from the river and sailing to Potrero Hill this weekend, as the official arbiters of fun for the Out Loud Comedy Festival Wrap Party.  Usual dancing to the discos is at perennial garden spot, El Rio, but the port for this special-special is Thee Parkside this Sunday.  Hopefully the special day and venue change will also result in a shorter line, instead of the wind-blown purgatory in front Horatio’s 40 dispensary and Atlas Motors.  Then again, getting there early is probably advisable.

The hosts kindly request, that in keeping things Fleet Week thematic, you also wear you favourite maritime-inspired garb, turning the Parkside into a sexy touring company of Anything Goes.

Although the door charge is a little up there at $6, if you get there early you also get to lube yourself up navy style with $1 Sergeant Classick Rum cocktails. Navigate yourself into a safe harbour, sailor!

Stephen's early years were spent in a boxcar overlooking downtown Los Angeles. From there he moved around the state with his family before settling under the warm blanket of smog that covers suburban Southern California. Moving around led to his inability to stay in one place for very long, but San Francisco has been reeling him back in with its siren song since 1999.
By trade he pours booze, but likes to think he can write and does so occasionally for the SF Bay Guardian, Bold Italic and 7x7. He also likes to enjoy time spent in old eateries, bars and businesses that, by most standards, would have been condemned a long time ago.
