Broke-Ass of the Week

Broke-Ass of the Week – Nick Bologna

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Every week we feature a different person from the community shedding a little light on their life of brokeitude.  Who knows, maybe you’ll learn something about the human spirit'probably not.

Wanna be a Broke-Ass of the Week?  Holler at us here and we’ll send you the questionnaire.

I’m still on the road this week.  Currently in beautiful Seville, so I’m gonna make this intro short.  Nick wants you to check out his band The Doorbells.  And here is what Nick has to say about being a broke-ass:

Name: Nick Bologna

Age: 21

Occupation: Musician/Blogger?

What neighborhood do you live in?: U.E.S

What are you listening to these days?: Etta James, The Dead Weather, and Arcade Fire it’s a weird mix I feel as if all 3 need to make a child together.

Best money saving tip: Bum Cigarettes drink Tecate.

What do you refuse to spend money on?: Condoms and Sex

Most expensive thing you’ve ever bought: Macbook Pro like everyone else in the world.

How’d that feel?: I felt like an old lonely man until it came in the mail. Then I realized just how important it was until my screen started to go black. It’s a necessity though none the less.

Favorite cheap eat: Street Falafel

Favorite dive bar: Max Fish

Best deal you’ve ever gotten: A free dinner at an Italian restaurant then free drinks and a free Imax 3D movie all in one night. It was from my roommates boyfriends credit card'thanks Michael.

Favorite free thing to do: Fuck and brush my teeth.

If you woke up a millionaire, what’s the first thing you’d buy?: A house with a Siberian Husky probably somewhere in Nashville and maybe a swing in the backyard or something like that

Despite not having money, do you still love your life?: Yeah, not having money makes things more interesting. Every night I go out I get to see how less I can spend and what free drinks or food and anything I can manage to acquire. It creates good stories

Do you own my book?: No but I’ll get it when I can afford it.

Best hangover cure: Gatorade and Spinach.

Are you a hipster?: My exgirlfriend called me a hipster everyday, maybe that’s why were not dating anymore. I don’t really know what that word is anymore I feel like everyone’s a hipster.
