Meet Hot Winter Sports Enthusiasts at Sports Basement Tonight!

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

You do NOT want to look like this penis wrinkle on the slopes...trust me.

So here’s the deal.  I went snowboarding in Tahoe last weekend for my friend’s birthday, which was really fun, especially if you enjoy masochism, but it ended up being kind of expensive.  See, between the lift tickets, equipment rentals, round-trip bus fare  and a plethora of jello shots at the lodge, I’m pretty sure at least two out of the four girls who went won’t be making their rent this month.

SnowPals, a Bay Area snow sports club, obviously feels my pain because tomorrow at Sports Basement they’re holding a season kickoff party with the idea being to connect all the super attractive skiers and snowboarders in the area with rideshares, cabin stays, and Tahoe trips, not to mention FREE beer, drinks, snacks, and 10% off all merchandise and package rentals.  Last weekend, my friend, who didn’t have any gloves, bought the cheapest pair at the resort — and they were STILL a gajillion dollars.  Trust me, you’re gonna want that 10% discount.

The party/meetup is FREE, but if you’re planning to go, RSVP with your name and number of guests to Pete at marshall2ski@yahoo.com.  Seriously, going to this thing might be an easier way to meet a guy with a cabin in Tahoe than my original plan, which involved a megaphone, Lionel Richie’s “All Night Long” and a shitload of roofies.  And remember, all skiers and snowboarders are smoking hot and are usually pretty easy too.  Just sayin’.

SnowPals Sports Club Party at Sports Basement Wednesday, January 19, 6pm -8:30pm 1590 Bryant St. (btwn Alameda & 15th) [Mission/Potrero] FREE with RSVP

When Christy announced she was leaving her family's Southern California home and moving to San Francisco, her mom said, "Have fun in that den of sin." This is the only (however sarcastic) advice Christy has ever taken from her mom, who also told her to join eharmony.com and cover her eyes during sex scenes in movies. Christy puts her creative writing degree to good use by locating the typos on Chinese food menus and spends most of her time challenging friends to all-you-can-eat contests and trying to get that one bartender at Zeitgeist to smile.
