FREE Bread Baking Talk at Omnivore Books

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

My Grandmother makes the best bread in the world. Truth. I would never even attempt to reach the Grandma-Magic levels of perfection, but I have always wanted to try my hand at baking something other than those pre-made rolls in a tube that scare the shit out of me when they POP open.

I may get my chance to do just that, because this Sunday, February 20th, Michael Kalanty, artisan break baker and writer, will be speaking at Omnivore Books about his book (aptly titled) How to Bake Bread. The talk is FREE and the subject of food is something I will never tire of, so it’s a guaranteed good time in my book. Also, if you haven’t been to Omnivore Books or one of their amazing events, you should. Because they rule.

Alison Lambert - Half Price Headliner

Ali was born and raised in the Wholesome/Creepy capital of the world, Salt Lake City, UT. Once she was old enough to blow that pop stand she escaped to the place that was the anti-SLC: The Peoples Gay-public of Drugifornia aka San Francisco (holla 30 Rock!). You can now find her throughout this glorious city slurping Pho and scheming with her best friend Pinky doing what they do every night; try and take over the world.
