Belly Burger: Your New Favorite Burger Joint

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Well, maybe it’s not your new favorite burger joint, but it’s definitely mine.  Whenever I’m craving a burger and fries on the cheap, Belly Burger is the place.

Belly Burger gives off somewhat of an old school feel.  I think it’s the black and white checkered tiles and old school diner memorabilia lining the walls.  I don’t know about you, but eating a burger in a place like that always adds to the experience.  Let’s get to what really matters, though – the food.  For around seven or eight bucks you will be handed a toilet bowl-sized plate of a burger and fries.  (By the way, if you have spent too much time hugging the porcelain god this may conjure haunting memories.  Think about ordering to go.)  Just to the left of the counter is an extensive and clean condiment bar.  This is perfect for eating on the cheap – pile as many toppings as possible onto that burger of yours and dig in.

As an added bonus, there is a giant screen on which you will usually find any sort of sports game.  There is an also an open air patio behind Belly Burger to be used when the weather is decent.

The bottom line – Belly Burger is a great, cheap destination for a burger and fries.
