The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Prior to a couple of weeks ago SanJalisco had been a name unfamiliar to me. This is probably due to the fact that this restaurant held the name of Los Jarritos for nearly 22 years until the change occurred in 2010. In any case, SanJalisco is one of the best family owned Mexican restaurants in San Francisco.

SanJalisco is probably most well known for its goat birria (served Friday – Sunday), which is a Mexican meat stew served with lime. For more information on additional menu offerings and the colorful history of SanJalisco, check them out here.

All of their dishes are priced at a level suitable for all broke asses. The portion sizes do nothing but reiterate that this places gives you the best bang for your buck.

SanJalisco is great for picking up a solo burrito on your way home or having dinner with a handful of your drunk, obnoxious friends. Either way, the food is killer, affordable, and damn tasty.
