Italian Heritage Festival Sunday October 9th

After you spend all day Saturday saluting planes and hanging out in the marina you might just need to find a calmer way to celebrate our fair city on Sunday.  The 143rd Italian Heritage Parade on Sunday October 9th should prove to be a great way to spend your fleet week Sunday.  With a myriad of floats and vendors to keep you entertained and fed how can you resist.   The parade actually registers as San Francisco’s oldest civic event.   I mean if an event has been going on for 143 years they have to be doing something right.

You’ll get to see the usual fun stuff parades bring all with a distinctly Italian twist.  Handmade floats, performances by local musicians and maybe if you’re lucky you might get to catch a glimpse of good old Christopher Columbus himself.  I know on Sunday it might be tempting to sleep off that Budweiser hangover but do your best to make it out to North Beach to enjoy a true San Francisco tradition.

Now Hugh lives in San Francisco and casually ignores his environmental studies degree, choosing to write comedy and eat burritos instead.
