DJ Qbert Live this Friday at SFO

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Anybody flying back into SFO this Friday night? Or maybe taking off to another destination? Either way, you are in for a treat if you will be in the new Virgin Airlines Terminal 2 around 7 p.m. Daly City native DJ Qbert will be performing live above the Departure area. The show is FREE and he will be scratching his records before the security checkpoint – so basically anyone can go. He will be playing as part of the latest art exhibit Revolutions Per Minute: The Evolution of the Record. Hop on BART and head down to the airport for a unique chance to check out the new terminal if you haven’t had the chance to see it yet.

Bay Area native DJ Qbert is often referred to as the “Jimi Hendrix of the turntables.” This guy  has invented more scratching techniques than any other DJ in the history of turntablism. He basically is the first person to use the turntable as a true musical instrument. DJ Qbert is still at the front of this genre and has taught thousands of fledgling DJs worldwide the art of scratching through his online Skratch University. Go see the master do his thing this Friday.
