Delicious Dim Sum Deals

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

The other morning I was in the Inner Richmond and stopped in for some delicious Chinese pastries at Good Luck Dim Sum on Clement. The smell of these baked, steamed and fried little dumplings was out of control. There was a super long line of locals patiently waiting for their breakfast treats. The woman in front of me ordered like everything they had to offer. When her total only came to $8, I was sold. I basically decided to copy her taste, and pointed at a lot of the same things she got.

There were two women behind the counter, hustling and bustling. I asked for a couple of the steamed BBQ pork buns, a couple of gyoza filled with pork and ginger, steamed shrimp and spinach wrapped in rice paper and a few sweet treats that resembled donuts. I also ordered a really weird red bean porridge – that was kind of like oatmeal – but a bit too sweet. Anyways, all of my little goodies cost me less than $10, and they were a huge hit when I brought them to share with my co-workers. I had a pretty lucky day – thanks to my breakfast at Good Luck Dim Sum.
