Urban Nature: Art Exhibit Opening at Blackbird Bar this Saturday

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Secession Art & Design is extending their walls and curating prowess to the stylishly rustic Blackbird Bar in the Castro. Eden Stein, owner and curator of Secession, is proud to collaborate with Rob Sakovich in his first solo show featuring his largest collection of fine urban art on Saturday, December 8, 6-8pm.

As an old school graffiti artist, Sakovich has spent the past 25 years creating graffiti murals around San Francisco. Instead of discarding his used cans once his art was complete, he envisioned the reuse of his artistic tool. Years later, and with more than enough spray cans in his possession, Sakovich embarked on a new visionary journey, using his cans as his canvas. His beautiful 3-D scenes of the City and nature depict such landmarks as the Golden Gate Bridge and golden ginko leaves in the fall.

Please come and join us for Blackbird’s fine libations, a chance to meet Rob Sakovich, and to view his art, all of which will be for sale.
