Unsilent Night, a Subway Tunnel Show, and Death Bear
So tonight is the night for all you Christmas carolers who don’t really sing. Join Phil Kline’s annual Christmastime boombox parade from Washington Square Park to Tompkins Square Park! Each person carries a different musical part of the whole piece creating a 44-minute electronic Christmas Carol which has been described as 'œone of the most moving, profound participatory art projects'ever witnessed.' Bring your own speakers and boomboxes (or show up early to borrow some) and cassettes and CDs will be available. Or get online now and download an mp3 and play it on an iPod or whatever. The Village Voice describes UNSILENT NIGHT as “a marvelously fluid, traveling spatial sound sculpture that disintegrates and reforms at nearly every stop light.' Time Out calls the event “an electro-happening” and depicts the music as “a winter wonderland of shimmering sleigh bells, chimes and grand chorales.” You know you want in.

DOWN IN A BROOKLYN TUNNEL WITH MEDIA ARTS ENSEMBLE
Enter into the world’s oldest subway tunnel for half the price it usually costs, and take part in an interactive, immersive, multimedia performance as realized by Brooklyn College’s collaborative, interdisciplinary MFA program. Meet at the southwest corner of Atlantic Avenue and Court Street, under the clock. You will then climb down a manhole to experience the coolest underground experience in Brooklyn. Sounds vague? Take the leap!
