Watch the USA vs Algeria Game for FREE at City Hall

I thought Brazil and Argentina had a rivalry. This looks more like a love affair.

Sure you could watch the World Cup from the comfort of your living room, or you could wake up even earlier, go downtown and watch the game from the comfort of a bunch of homeless peoples’ living room: Civic Center Plaza!

So far the US has managed to neither win or lose a game, not bad considering our past experiences in the World Cup.  On Wednesday at 7am USA vs Algeria will be shown live on a 13 foot by 18 foot screen down at Civic Center Plaza.  And afterwards if you still don’t have to go to work, either Australia vs Serbia or Ghana vs Germany will be shown.  I think there might be some concession stands there, but you’ll have to brown bag your own drinks.  Then again, 7am is pretty fucking early to be drinking.

I’m pretty sure the guys from the Teacher Bus (the bus we used for the pub crawl) are involved with this event some how.  Good on them!  Speaking of the pub crawl, I’ll get the photos from it up soon so you can start fantasizing about when we do it again in the fall.
