If you’ve never been to Big Nate’s BBQ in SoMa then you’re not only missing out on a delicious and nap-inducing lunch, but you’re also missing your chance to hang out with NBA legend, former Golden State Warriors all-star and BBQ aficionado Big Nate Thurmond himself. Luckily, this Saturday from Noon – 4pm you’ll get a chance to remedy that at Big Nate’s 20th anniversary party where 10 bucks will get you all the ribs, brisket, pulled pork, chicken, hot links you can eat along with the usual starting lineup of barbecue-friendly sides like cole slaw, potato salad, and mac & cheese.

Your $10 meal ticket also enters you into a raffle with prizes like signed memorabilia and a 20-person catering package that would make an awesome post-season baseball party. There will be a beer and wine bar on hand, because god forbid you go thirsty, and other SoMa-area business like Bridge Brands Chocolate and Ultimate Cookie will be bringing free samples for dessert. If you’re worried about food lines, then be sure to RSVP on facebook to receive early entry at 11:45am and a separate priority line.

Andrew Dalton - Aggressive Panhandler

Andrew is an East Coast transplant from Virginia hamming it up in San Francisco without any intention of leaving. Having worked every typical job from Bike Shop Employee to Bartender to Ad Agency Hotshot, to Dotcom Layoff he now busts his ass covering the "weird things to do" beat for gracious local audiences at SFAppeal.com and rallies the Western Addy/Lower Haight/Panhandle neighborhoods into action at AggressivePanhandler.com. His work was published in a real, paper magazine one time. One day he might even figure out how to make money from it.
