Celebrate All Things Goat at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market Tomorrow

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Do you like goats?  No?  Hmmm.  Have you SEEN the above photo?  Look at that precious thing!  I’m not particularly an animal lover myself — my affections are usually reserved solely for my dog, Jackie Robinson — but even I can’t help squealing over this little guy.

Okay, let’s say you don’t care for goats.  Something I bet you do care for?  FREE cooking demonstrations and food samples, which will abound at tomorrow’s Third Annual Goat Festival at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market.  I remember hearing about this last year and being disappointed that I couldn’t make it, but this time nothing’s standing in the way of me and the cooking demo with Laura Werlin, author of Grilled Cheese Please! 50 Scrumptiously Cheesy Recipes!  Other highlights of the festival include a petting zoo, FREE goat milk food samples from Redwood Hill, Cypress Grove, Laloo’s Goat’s Milk Ice Cream (YUM) and Happy Goat Caramel.  I heard it’ll be sunny tomorrow, so it’ll be a great day to be outside and get a tan.  Trust me, you need it.

Christy Jovanelly - Cheapskate Commentator

When Christy announced she was leaving her family's Southern California home and moving to San Francisco, her mom said, "Have fun in that den of sin." This is the only (however sarcastic) advice Christy has ever taken from her mom, who also told her to join eharmony.com and cover her eyes during sex scenes in movies. Christy puts her creative writing degree to good use by locating the typos on Chinese food menus and spends most of her time challenging friends to all-you-can-eat contests and trying to get that one bartender at Zeitgeist to smile.
