Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with FREE Burritos & Biking Tonight

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Happy Cinco de Margaritayo! Or Mayo, whatever. To most, today is a day to get unapologetically drunk on tequila. To few, it is a day to pay homage to Mexico’s Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, when the Mexican army defeated invading French forces from conquering the state of Puebla. To one person I know, it is a good reason to wear bright red pants.

Whatever you’re into, tonight environmental action group Time’s Up welcomes you into its arms for a little bikin’, a little burritoin’, and a little drankin’. It’s a BYOB affair, which I assume goes for both booze and bikes. After, shake your taco with some dancin’ while you stumble and swing at pinatas. If this doesn’t say “Way to Go, Mexico!” I don’t know what does.

Jill is an Ohio native and Boston University graduate who refuses to stop saying "pop" and wearing her Red Sox gear despite being heckled for doing so since moving to Brooklyn. She's been honing her thrifty ways since doing that silly thing people talk about when they ignore reason to follow their hearts and chose a career in the fulfilling but faltering music industry. She earns her beer money as a publicist and writer, and spends her spare time cooking, biking, and trying to decide if she's ready to get a cat.
