Can Hardly Wait Until Hardly Strictly!
For those of you who don’t already know about the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival happening in Golden Gate Park this weekend, where the heck have you been? Hiding under a rock?
This is only the biggest, and not to mention FREE Bluegrass Festival in the entire country! From Friday, September 30th until Sunday, October 2nd, hundreds of bands jamming out on tambourines, washboards, banjos and even ukuleles will take over the lower half of the cities infamous Golden Gate Park. With six stages and 750,000 attendees, it’s kind of hard to miss. It’s even harder to figure out what shows you want to see and which ones you may have to skip.
Some of the biggest acts of the weekend are: Bright Eyes, Robert Plant, The Mother Hips, The Devil Makes Three, Chris Isaak, Thurston Moore, and a whole lot more! For a full list of the bands and performers see: www.strictlybluegrass.com. The shows run from 11 am – 7 pm all three days. And if you are really antsy, you can even check out MC Hammer pre-game on Thursday from 10:30 – 12 pm, as he “prays” and teaches kids some educational stuff about gospel music and the good Lord above. For all the rest of you, get ready to kick your heels up and dance to some bluegrass in the grass all weekend long!
