FREE Reading by Miranda July at BookCourt on Tuesday

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Hear the sometimes polarizing, but always daring performance artist/filmmaker/writer, Miranda July, read from her new book,  It Chooses You, on Tuesday at Bookcourt in Brooklyn.

It Chooses You was born while July procrastinated on writing her latest feature film, The Future, by reading the PennySaver classifieds booklet. Chock full of photos by Brigitte Sire, the book chronicles July’s travels throughout Los Angeles to meet up with the people behind the services and items to be sold, and includes interviews that give insight to thirteen diverse life stories. The reading is FREE and begins at 7PM so get there on time for a good seat.

Tiara Francis - NY Know-it-all

Tiara Francis - NY Know-it-all

Tiara was born in NYC, raised in NJ, and after studying Comp Lit at Columbia, vowed to never go back to the suburbs. While she has expensive taste, she also has shallow pockets and is always looking for a budget way to be a weekend warrior. Her hobbies include laughing way too loudly, putting hot sauce on/in everything - including margaritas - speaking French at inappropriate moments, and dancing like there’s no one else in da club.
