“Reyka Presents: Iceland Wants to Buy You a Drink” Open Bar Tonight

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Open bars are the adult equivalent of being a kid in a candy store -albeit a boozy, occasionally overcrowded candy store. But, after you maneuver your way through the fray, and finally get your hands on an ice-cold free drink (maybe two if you double-fist it to optimize the open bar experience) then the minor wait is well worth it. Add some live music in, and now you’ve got a real party – which is exactly what Reyka Vodka wants to give you at their “Reyka Presents: Iceland Wants to Buy You a Drink” event tonight at R Bar.

The Icelandic vodka company will be supplying the free drinks from 10PM-12AM, while Reykavic natives Jeff Who up the Icelandic ante and crank out the tunes. They may even roll out their crossover hit, “Barfly” to really round out your open bar experience. If you want to get your drink on a little earlier, Reyka will also be pouring free drinks at Home Sweet Home (131 Chrystie St.) from 7PM-9PM.

Tiara Francis - NY Know-it-all

Tiara was born in NYC, raised in NJ, and after studying Comp Lit at Columbia, vowed to never go back to the suburbs. While she has expensive taste, she also has shallow pockets and is always looking for a budget way to be a weekend warrior. Her hobbies include laughing way too loudly, putting hot sauce on/in everything - including margaritas - speaking French at inappropriate moments, and dancing like there’s no one else in da club.
