Special Beer Week Edition of Pickle Back Wednesday with Linden St. Brewery and Beer & Soul

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Yes, that is Ashkon on the Beer Bike

If you haven’t been to Dear Mom yet for Pickle Back Wednesdays, you’ve been missing out.  The combination of whiskey shots, pickle juice, booty shaking, and poor decision making is pretty incredible. But this week we’re taking it one step further. We’re teaming up with Linden St. Brewery and certified Cicerone Sayre Piotrkowski from Beer and Soul for a cool Beer Week event.  You may remember Sayre from the Swagger Stagger video we did a little while back.

Not only will Linden St. be there vending some of their very delicious beer, they’ll be doing so from the amazing beer bike (with which they use to make deliveries) that Ashkon is riding in the photo above.  Plus I’ll be behind the bar slanging pickle backs, and Sayre will be in attendance answering any possible question you could have about beer.  The dude knows more about beer than I will ever know about anything.

A few cool things about Linden St. Brewery:

– Linden is growing like crazy. Three years ago they only sold beer in Oakland today they are in most of the  important restaurant in SF.
– Linden brews “The Town” Lager especially for Jack London Square and the surrounding areas. It is only ever delivered by bicycle.
– Linden’s tap room is a popular place to pow-wow for Oakland’s young and inspired entrepreneurs as well as sage mentors like Michael Pollan and Pete Slosberg (Pete’s Wicked Ale).

This event is also celebrating the launch of Sayre’s site Beer and Soul where they “seek to celebrate the world’s greatest drink, as it is actually experienced in our day-to-day lives: with equally great food and company. We don’t grade beers, we drink them, and every pint provides another page in the story.”

See you folks there on Wednesday!
