B.L.ING (the BIG LIT THING!)
With a poster like the one above – the purple blinged out mouth, that is – this event could be a Bay Area Octogenarian Garden Club meeting and still be kick-ass. I mean, I’d love that event, and I don’t think I’d be the only one. Nonetheless. B.L.ING, or the Big Lit Thing, features an all-star cast of young, hard-drinking, eloquent whippersnappers, all Bay Area writers showcasing their work for the evening to the tune of FREE beer and companionship.
Between them, Stephen Rosenshein, Lizzy Acker, Anhvu Buchanan, Diana Salier, Ben Mirov, and Chelsea Martin have between them several published works and an obvious aptitude for good names (Martin is the author of Everything Was Fine Until Whatever and The Really Funny Thing About Apathy; Salier penned Wikipedia Says It Will Pass and Letters from Robots). Buchanan and Salier have also been Broke-Asses of the Week, which should be selling point enough.
Show up at Press around 7:30 for books, FREE beer, and company.
