Oakland Invades the Mission This Sunday

Sign for the Dopest Events Newsletter in the Bay Area

Ever since the Guardian put this piece on their cover, and this on their blog folks on both sides of the Bay seem to be getting all cranky. While SFBG raise some good points about the expense of living in SF and our changing demographics here in the city, people need to stop acting like Oakland and SF are two different worlds. It is a 15 minute BART from my house to downtown Oakland. I’d imagine that a bunch of you who are reading this right now work in SF and live in Oakland or vice-versa. It was a very wise man who once said, “Don’t Hate, Celebrate,” and that is just what I’d be doing  this Sunday at Oakland Invaders if I weren’t gonna be out of town.

I was lucky enough to attend this event last year at Heart and it was a freaking blast – full of local beer, food carts and artwork. This year’s installment has expanded to an all day event. Vendors include Linden Street Brewery, Chef Sarah Kirnon, Beauty’s Bagel Shop, and Pietisserie. Dear Mom always has a bad-ass bartender’s brunch each Sunday, but this one may be the most unique yet.

You can get even more info over at the Beer and Soul Blog.
