A Cheap BBQ Dine-In at Mable’s Smokehouse & Banquet Hall
I don’t know about you, but this platter of food that we are both staring at here is certainly doing its job of promoting a lustful desire for this Mom & Pop BBQ restaurant. It surely is for me.
According to its creators Meghan and Jeff, this hearty smokehouse developed as an aftermath when both individuals decided to transform their artistic mind into being artists in the kitchen. Jeff wanted a way to honor his granny Mable, and what better way to do so than to name a cozy Southern-looking establishment after her?
They’ve got a huge lengthy square bar with closely knit chairs so someone can break a fall if a person becomes deathly intoxicated. They’ve got cool dangling lights that somehow seem to create a calm and subtle atmosphere; long wooden almost cafeteria-like tables which creates a sense of community and closeness. They’ve got…brick walls. Who doesn’t love a cozy indoor brick wall?! And most importantly, they’ve got cheap, awesome grubs.
Mable’s beef brisket can get chopped up for $10 sandwiches or can be sliced up for a $15 platter. If you’re not so hungry for delish BBQ (which you’d be crazy not to even try), you can always indulge in Mable’s cheap happy hours, with $4 for any well drinks, and $1 off any beer or a can of beer and a shot (Tue-Fri 4-7pm). And whatever you do, please do not forget to try out this country stop’s $5 homemade pies. They’re almost orgasmic.

Meghan and Jeff probably already know this, which is why they want to paint every town in New York barbecue red. How? By going mobile! The two are currently attempting to raise enough money to get themselves a mobile smoker and hit the roads of NYC and maybe even elsewhere. So by the time they become the famous BBQers of New York, there should be no excuses as to why you have not yet eaten there. Make it your business and hit up Brooklyn.
