Broke-Ass Artist of the Week – The elusive, Qween Amor

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Brokeassstuart.com proudly presents the Broke-Ass Artists series where we give our readers an insight to the struggle of some up and coming talent in music.

What advice would you give to someone who is afraid to pursue their passion?

Get over it. [sic] We are not obligated or required to work low paying jobs. We were not created to be chained to money, jobs, and materialistic values. We were created to be free, happy, and loving beings. [sic] Follow your dreams and make decisions to make those dreams come true. Please, give your dreams a chance to live. You owe it to yourself to be happy, you deserve to be happy. [sic] In perspective we are living on a rock that does nothing but float through space and spin laps around the sun and this rock has been here for billions of years. We only live an average of 60 years. It’s not a lot of time. YOU MUST EXPERIENCE ALL THIS LIFE HAS TO OFFER. Don’t let fear define your life or you’ll be wasting the only life you’re going to get.

Was there ever a time when a lack of money made you want to stop pursuing your dream?

There’s always a way to make things happen. I believe in myself and my work, that belief resonates with the universe and the universe brings me everything I need. All I have to do is ask and focus. When you learn how to use the Law of Attraction, everything just comes. So what, I’ve had to sleep on the streets, now I have a good story to tell and I’m humble because of it.

What does the word “love” mean to you?

Love is not something that words can explain. Love transcends vocabulary. Music, Art, and everything beautiful is what Love really is. Love is an experience and its the one thing all Humans desire. Love is the reason for everything. Love is the answer to everything. I think artists are the interpreters of love. We put it in a form that people can understand, a form that people can feel and relate too. The most important part of my performance is my ability to share love with the surrounding world. This gives the world a chance to experience and feel what TRUE LOVE really is. Love is seen and felt from a queer individual, which provides living proof that LOVE is open to all people. The love humanity is searching for is a love that does not cause suffering, a love that can’t be taken away. I show the audience exactly where to find this love, which is within themselves. Art allows me to serve as a mirror and reflect to society everything they desire: freedom, love, truth and beauty. Through my performance, I have the power to show the world what LOVE is and it’s my understanding that the world must SEE it in order to extend their consciousness to that of love. My goal is to help society evolve in consciousness and open the path for everyone to obtain love consciousness. If God is love and love is to be found within then my performance makes God and Love synonymous which will make religion obsolete. Music is the language of Love, it’s universal and this is the key to humanities salvation.

Do you have a “day job” and if so what?

Absolutely fucking not. I loathe the entire concept of jobs. Jobs are the reason people in this world are so fucking miserable. The shit is, our government has convinced us that we need and want jobs. They have literally made people desire to be slaves and the people don’t even fucking know that they are slaves. Imagine what would happen if black people realized that they never have been free of slavery, that slavery has just extended to EVERYONE. The entire working class needs to go on strike and shut this entire shit show down. Fuck Jobs!!!! The universe did not give birth to itself just so it can give us life and force us to work a bunch of shit jobs. If jobs are the purpose of human existence then the entire universe is just one EVIL COSMIC JOKE. Check out my perspective on jobs here:
