hold no more

Oh hell yes! The #HoldNoMore Campaign is fucking brilliant! Their goal is to end being put on hold!

I don’t know about you, but I get frustrated sometimes. I talk back to the automated voice and say “No YOU hold while I transfer YOUR call.” It never does any good. I still get passed around, holding for awhile until I get transferred to the another line where I hold for even longer. I say nasty things to the automated voice like, “You mom blows goats!” or “I can smell your breath from here non existent phone operator person.”

I just makes me feel a little bit better and entertains me while I wait for-fucking-ever to talk to a real human being. And then sometimes, I get disconnected.

I cant even imagine how much of my life has been wasted while being on hold. And it’s not like you can get much else done because you’re constantly like, “I swear it’s about to happen, I just know it is!” It’s kinda like dating a virgin.

Here are some interesting (and infuriating) facts about being on hold:

– 53% of of Americans say they spend 10-20 minutes a week, which adds up to 13 hours a year!

– 86% of consumers report being put on hold every time they call a business.

So #HoldNoMore is saying fuck that and bringing the noise directly to the companies who do this. Check it out below:

ATT invented the 800 number, this group wanted to bring this to light in a humorous demonstration/protest

Wanna get involved? Yeah, I know you do. Take a photo doing your Hold Face, you know, the face you have when you’re on hold and then blast it to the world using the #HoldFace hashtag. Hell, it’s the perfect thing to do while you’re waiting on hold. Here’s mine:
