As a resident of SF, who makes a modest income, ~$100,000/yr, for the last 3 years I have lived alone, renting in a condo built in 1985. My landlord has increased my rent every year and is now 39% higher than when I moved in. I believe if my rent is raised again this December, I’ll be unable to afford it. What options do you see me having to stay in SF? Why has no one done anything to update rent control laws? How is building luxury housing that is not affordable to 66% of ordinary people going to help me?
Thanks for your attention. Good luck
