Do you find yourself reading this site and thinking, “I’m young, broke, beautiful (or at least once was), AND I can write better than these chumps!”?  If so, now is your time to prove it.

We’re currently looking to expand our author pool and we’re hoping that you, our dear and deranged readers, might wanna get in on the action.  If you’re snarky, know what’s happening in your town, and good at making your fingers type out funny words, then you might be just the person we’re looking for.

And the best part is, we pay! I mean, to be honest, the pay is shit, but we’re punk as fuck. And it’s a great place to get clips, many of our writers have gone on to write for outlets like Vice, the San Francisco Chronicle, SFist and more.

Here’s how it works. You’re gonna drop us a line at:

SFeditor@BrokeAssStuart.com

Please send a writing sample when you do so and tell us what you’re interested in writing about. And then after that, well…that’s what dreams are made out of.

Looking forward to hearing from you!!

His website BrokeAssStuart.com is one of the most influential arts & culture sites in the San Francisco Bay Area and his freelance writing has been featured in Lonely Planet, Conde Nast Traveler, The Bold Italic, Geek.com and too many other outlets to remember. His weekly column, Broke-Ass City, appears every other Thursday in the San Francisco Examiner. Stuart’s writing has been translated into four languages. In 2011 Stuart created and hosted the travel show Young, Broke, and Beautiful on IFC and in 2015 he ran for Mayor of San Francisco and got nearly 20k votes.

He's been called "an Underground legend": SF Chronicle , "an SF cult hero": SF Bay Guardian, and "the chief of cheap": Time Out New York.
