Brewers’ Picks for SF Beer Week 2016

It’s a magic time of year to eat well and drink beer.  SF Beer week starts this Saturday January 23rd and runs until January 31st.

So we asked a bunch of San Francisco brewers about the events they would not miss during San Francisco Beer Week and of course we mixed in our own.  We also took into account that we don’t like paying cover charges and we like drinking beers outdoors, in cool venues, and with good grub.

Saturday 23rd

San Franpsycho x Beer Week: Speakeasy Takeover
5 PM – 9 PM
San Francisco Beer Week has arrived! The awesome Speakeasy Ales & Lagers crew is taking over our Divisadero shop from 5-9pm for an evening of tasty pourings. Drop by for free beer and good vibes.

Lucky 13 Dog Day Afternoon

Lucky 13 and Fieldwork Brewing co are partnering up to benefit Rocket Dog Rescue.  10 specialty beers to benefit the Rocket Dog.  Bring your pooch along for a pint, or meet your new best friend at our on-site adoption fair.


Anchor Beer Garden at The Yard

Sunday 24th

Woods Beer Company Local Honey Beer Events

SF Beer Week Battle of the Guilds! 52 breweries from the regions of San Francisco, San Diego, and Los Angeles will battle it out to see who takes the SF title home for best brewing guild.  Open to the public, the event is a great way for people to become acquainted with some of the best breweries California has to offer by trying some great, rare beers.

Lagunitas Tap Takeover + Special Release Tapping

Lagunitas 15 Tap Takeover with special release tapping at 4:20pm.  You can pretty much go into Zeitgeist any day this week and there will be an awesome brewery there serving dope shit.


Magnolia Pub Oyster & Beer Extravaganza

Annual celebration of one of nature’s most perfect combinations: oysters and beer. Releasing the latest batch of our legendary Oysterhead Stout, brewed with 4 bushels of Hog Island oysters (in their entirety). What do brewers do on Sunday? Well, they sometimes don’t drink tea. This is your end of SF Beer Week event. You made it, now join us for Bay Area favorite Fatted Calf’s delicious beer sausages made with our featured strong beers. Other strong beers from Bay Area breweries will be on hand. We’ll have music as well in our Beer Garden. Come on out and see your favorite brewers in the beer garden enjoying Sunday “tea” and grilled beer sausages and live bluegrass. A perfect way to start your last day of SF Beer Week.
