Best Craigslist Missed Connections from Lyft & Uber Rides

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

BY: SHAYNA YASUHARA

I was on Craigslist looking for a “new-to-me” bookshelf and meandered over to the often entertaining Missed Connections segment. I wondered if people still used this page. Considering meeting and dating is left largely to apps nowadays, and maybe still bars, I was curious who is still using Craigslist for this purpose. What I found was that another savvy app service was leading to a number of missed love connections. Apparently the new love train is Uber and Lyft.

While half the time you ride in a carpooling situation it’s either a lively bunch of small talkers or everyone face deep in their cell phones, there is another percentage of times when a true connection is maybe being made. On Craigslist there were a surprising number of posts for passengers seeking passengers, passengers seeking drivers, and other combinations found just within the last couple of weeks. After learning that Mr. NSA hardcore fucking married looking for married. – m4w from Gilroy, did not in fact work for the National Security Agency, I got to work putting together this list.

Your Pillsbury dough boy metaphor was really good.

I am watching Bob’s Burgers and wondering if it’s super weird that I am writing this. Probably.

You can’t be straight. Are you straight? I never enjoy talking to men.

Post-soccer win UberPool – w4m (SOMA / South beach)

You were coming out of a soccer game, I was coming out of a virtual reality booth. I got out of the Uber in Hayes Valley, you were headed to the Inner Richmond. You were cute and friendly, I was a little bit smitten… Phil, was it? Have never posted a missed connection before, but letting the wine talk

Aaron, the uber driver – m4m hide this posting

Aaron, you drove me home from work in the wharf on 4/20 in a Honda Civic. We talked about doing dabs and skateboarding in GGP. I told you to drop by and blaze out sometime. Interested in smoking more than weed with you. Hit me up

Uber connection – m4w

I drove you to the marina, we had a great conversation and you told me about Bombay’s history. I wanted to get your number but Uber has made it clear not to ask. I wish I wouldn’t have listened.

Any female Uber drivers want to meet up – m4w (SOMA / south beach)

I’m an Uber driver and would like to meet other Uber drivers, preferably female, to talk about what we do, or anything really. Is there already a meeting place?

Such an invigorating Uber ride!! I will remember this one for a long time. I hope that you may see this upon your return and know that you touched someone in a positive way. Hopefully we will get a chance to talk again.

Bad Day (Ben &Jerrys) – m4w (haight ashbury)

I was your Lyft driver last night from one of your jobs. You mentioned how bad of a day it was for you. We’re both from SoCal. I enjoyed our conversation so much and I didn’t think to ask for your number. Anyway, get in touch!

We write for busboys, poets, social workers, students, artists, musicians, magicians, mathematicians, maniacs, yodelers and everyone else out there who wants to enjoy life not as a rich person, but as a real person. Namely, we write for you.

We’re currently looking to expand our author pool. If you’re snarky, know what’s happening in your town, and good at making your fingers type out funny words, then you might be just the person we’re looking for. Email alex@brokeassstuart.com with some writing samples if you're interested. Cheers
