FREE Music and BBQ at Hooves on the Turf’s Northside Showcase

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Yesterday’s unexpected turn from the 20th gray, rainy miserable day in a row to sunny and lovely late spring afternoon evening restored my faith in God and humanity.  Too bad it didn’t last. We’re back to gray and lame again today, but it’s not raining yet, so at least we can chill outside.

If you haven’t already checked out Williamsburg’s  Northside festival, celebrating the magic of Williamsburg and Greenpoint, today’s the day to go. Brooklyn music blog Hooves on the Turf is hosting it’s FREE showcase today at Trophy Bar. Delicious food in the backyard, good looking people, and some awesome bands should carry you through the afternoon, at least until it’s acceptable to start hard drinking again.  There’s even a special guest, rumored (by me) to be legendary musical duo Hall & Oates. Just kidding.  But there is a special guest!  Here’s the lineup:

2:00 Afuche
2:30 tUnE-yArDs
3:00 Luke Winslow-King
3:30 Gracious Calamity
4:00 Drink Up Buttercup
4:30 Glass Ghost
5:00 Sharon Van Etten
5:30 Adam Arcuragi
6:00 Vandaveer
6:30 special guests
