$2 Sale at Goodwill This Weekend

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Ever since I started dressing myself, I’ve been shopping in thrift stores.  I’m pretty sure it’s long gone now, but when I was growing up there was an AMAZING one in the Clairemont area of San Diego called Action Thrift.  It was the size of a grocery store and because of this, shopping at Action required at least a couple hours of your time.  But it was worth it because they had some truly brilliant finds.  In fact I still have some things I bought there way back when I was in high school.

If you’re reading this website there’s a very good chance that you’re a thrifter too, and if that’s the case, I’ve got great news.  This weekend, every Goodwill store in SF, Marin and San Mateo will be having a $2 sale.  Yeah, really.  Every single piece of clothing will be marked at $2!  It’s like they’re saying, “What, you don’t think we can make our prices any cheaper?  Fuck you we can’t!”

They’re also marking 50% off all shoes during this sale, so you can finally get that pair of Doc Martens you’ve been thinking about.  In fact if you see Docs in a size 9 1/2 grab me a pair too!

I recommend getting there super early (like now) because, at prices like these, I bet it’s gonna get pretty crazy.  In fact, you should probably were some kind of body armor because someone might get shanked.  Here’s how you make Broke-Ass Body Armor. If I remember right, I learned this from Vice Magazine, it’s how prisoners protect themselves:

Get a bunch of old National Geographic magazines and tuck them in your pants in a ring around your torso.  Then add another layer of NGs on top of the first ring and use some duct tape to secure it.  Now no shank will get you…unless they go for the throat of course.  Then you’re fucked.

Goodwill $2 sale
All stores in SF, San Mateo and Marin
