R.I.P. Corey Haim-The Lost Boys at Knitting Factory

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Sad.

Via the great folks over at Gothamlist:

“Come pay tribute to the life of the ultimate 1980’s teen heartthrob, Corey Haim. The Knitting Factory will be celebrating his film work with Brooklyn-based comedy group, the Raspberry Brothers. We’ll be toasting the Haim with drink specials (Corey Haim was Canadian-born, so good deals on Moosehead, Labatt’s and Molson) and roasting him on the big screen, with a live mocking of his greatest film, the LOST BOYS. There’ll also be an audience Haim-Off, with prizes for the best Corey rendition, along to clips from: Dream a Little Dream, Lucas, and License to Drive.

About the Lost Boys: Start with a classic vampire-as-metaphor-for-puberty story line, add a dozen or so mullets, throw in two Coreys, a dash of Kiefer Sutherland hamming it up, and one kick-ass soundtrack. Sleep all day. Party all night. Never grow old. Never die. (Some blood sucking required.)

BAS Writers

BAS Writers is mostly a collection of articles written by people for the early days of this site. Back then nobody knew that snarky articles they were writing could come back and haunt them when job searching a decade later.
