FREE Happy Hour Screening of Kick-Ass for Charity
Didn't this movie just come out like last week?
In case you missed Kick-Ass the first time around (I did!) and you’re too eager to wait for it to hit Netflix, then you’ll have a chance to catch it in a (somewhat) proper theater for FREE tomorrow night, Thursday May 20th. The friendly people at SF in SF are putting on the screening to benefit Variety Children’s Charity and UC Children’s Hospital, which seems fitting for a movie about kids dressing up like superheroes. There is a recommended $5 donation at the door or at the cash bar (Did I mention there’s a cash bar?), but they won’t be turning anyone away for insufficient funds. Also, there will be FREE popcorn.
The screening starts early at 5:30pm, but it’s taking place in the Hobart Building right next to Montgomery St. BART, so if you work in the neighborhood, you ought to be able to pop in when the doors open at 5pm, right after the boss cuts you loose. And if you’ve got any new or gently-used DVDs that you’d like to donate to UC Children’s Hospital they’ll be accepting those too. (Although, use your head – no donating your porn collection.)
