Off the Grid: Street Food Extravaganza at Fort Mason Friday Night

It’s no secret that Broke-Ass staff enjoy eating while standing, and if recent food trends are to be believed everything just tastes better when you order it from a Roach Coach Gourmet Food Truck. Which probably explains why these Street Food/Food Cart/Taco Truck events have been popping up all over the city. The latest edition of Off the Grid’s mobile food blowout, happening tomorrow night (Friday!) at Fort Mason looks to be about the biggest that’s come across my radar to date. With newcomers The Taco Guys and Street Eatz joining one of my personal favorites Kung Fu Tacos and the much-hyped Hapa Ramen, there should be something for every budget and appetite.

And if street food at happy hour isn’t enough to get you jazzed up about your Friday night, live musicians Terrence Brewer, Gaucho Jazz and Ruth Parry will be playing from 5pm – 9pm to set the mood. Something tells me none of these trucks have a beer license, so a stop at the Marina Dateway Safeway might also be in order.

UPDATE! Turns out there is a bar on-site and BYOB won’t be your best idea. So come hungry AND thirsty.
