Happy Hour and Time Capsule Making with Muni Diaries and I Live Here SF

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Did you go to the I Live Here SF retrospective the other week like I told you to?  Well you should have, but if you didn’t you can still see all the great art when you got to the Muni Diaries Happy Hour tomorrow.

This sounds like a pretty rad event and not the typical happy hour where you try to seduce the brunette from HR.  Sure there’ll be some drinking and eating, but there’ll be artistic shit too!  They are making a time capsule! Check out what Muni Diaries has to say:

For one night, SOMArts will become a space for you to record your own Muni story for a digital story capsule. We will be on hand to record your story, whether it’s audio, video, text, or art, in the Muni Diaries story booth '” under a real Muni shelter. This was a really amazing feat, thanks to the help of SFMTA. We could hardly believe it when the shelter was delivered to the gallery.

Your stories will be collected on a new page we’ll be unveiling on Muni Diaries called Muni Time Capsule, a treasure trove of photos, schedules, maps, stories (we hope!), and ephemera from Muni days gone by.

And you even get to drink under a real live Muni shelter…not like you haven’t done that before.  But hey, this one is indoors.  Plus you get your second chance to see all of Julie Michelle’s photos, Chris Rusak’s art, and Rick Prelinger’s film archive.  While the beer and wine won’t be free, it’ll be in the $2-$3 range and there will be food you can buy too.

And then when you’re done, you can come right over to Doc’s Clock for $1 PBRs and FREE PB&J sandwiches.  See you then.
