Enter Funktown with Gordon Voidwell at The Bell House

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

For those of you who aren’t trapped in the frozen tundra that is Michigan, shimmy on over to The Bell House this evening to see a new revolution take place with electropop acts Gordon Voidwell and company sharing the stage.

Voidwell or “Will” has been getting a lot of ink or clicks I should say, lately since his video “Ivy League Circus” was released last October. Unlike a lot of other danceable-throwaway hits, this New York native lyrics show he’s got something to talk about. It doesn’t hurt that it makes you want to dance your sobriety and cares away either.

Also joining the homecoming tonight is bands Keepaway, Wallpaper, and Midnight Magic. All of which, could fill the house up in their own right. So bring your dancing shoes and elastic clothing and dance those mashed potatoes right off. There’s a new pfunk in town.

Laura S - Spendthrift Scribe

Laura S, left the "sixth borough" three years ago to settle in Brooklyn. After working at some daily rags, she now does writing on the side but still eats more Ramen then necessary. When she's not moving residences every 6 months, eating her way through every neighborhood, and trying every microbrew known to man, she is unsuccessfully rediscovering home economics. With her binging days behind her, she's now exploring new projects and rediscovering the city that she loves (although is still prone to sliding on her knees during a Prince karaoke set).
