T-Shirt Time Isn’t Just for the ‘Jersey Shore’

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

How MTV’s most lucrative guidos managed to turn a mundane task into an anticipated mini-celebration and coin yet another catchphrase, “T-shirt Time!”,  is a conundrum. But who needs explanation when there are multiple sets of rippling abs to distract you from the stupidity of it all.

Nonetheless, no promises will be made that like-bodied Italian meatballs will attend Make Goods, Do Goods, a tee-making workshop – part of the Invisible Instructions art exhibition and micro-festival hosted by Mikey 1Soul, SpazeCraft One and Greg Barber. (BTW, is there a crazy name-generating app we don’t know about?)

Participants will experience three alternative art-making processes, including silk screening; bleach-based spray stenciling; and transforming T-shirts into shoulder bags, an eco-friendly process called up-cycling. Once everybody is up to speed on how Ed Hardy makes a living, they’ll get to combine any two of the processes to create their own limited-edition 'œart gift' to take home.

Walk-ins are welcome, but advance registration will ensure participation as space is limited to 25.

Fist pumps all around.
