Finish Your Last-Minute Christmas Shopping at the Renegade Craft Fair Holiday Sale!

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Give the coolest gifts of any kid on the block!

Guess what?  There are — no kidding — only NINE days left until Christmas Day.  That’s a little over a week to search, scramble and scrounge for the perfect gifts you haven’t gotten yet.  I’ve heard tell of folks who finish all their holiday shopping months in advance, taking advantage of things like Veterans Day sales and the infamous Black Friday.  However, I’ve never known anyone who actually does this.  I know for a fact that 100% of my friends have only completed 25% of their Christmas shopping needs (I’ve obviously done some very in-depth statistical analysis in the last three minutes).

Again, San Francisco’s local art scene is coming to the rescue for all you procrastinators.  This Saturday and Sunday at the Concourse Exhibition Center, the FREE-to-attend 2nd Annual Renegade Craft Fair Holiday Sale is going down.  Over 200 indie-craft masters will be selling their one-of-a-kind creations, along with our pal Kelly Malone of Workshop leading DIY crafts.  Also, there’s gonna be a free photobooth (always a good time), FREE raffle prizes and off-the-cuff verses by fellow broke-ass and poet Silvi of The Poetry Store.  Remember, this is the last weekend before the big C — make it count!

Christy Jovanelly - Cheapskate Commentator

When Christy announced she was leaving her family's Southern California home and moving to San Francisco, her mom said, "Have fun in that den of sin." This is the only (however sarcastic) advice Christy has ever taken from her mom, who also told her to join eharmony.com and cover her eyes during sex scenes in movies. Christy puts her creative writing degree to good use by locating the typos on Chinese food menus and spends most of her time challenging friends to all-you-can-eat contests and trying to get that one bartender at Zeitgeist to smile.
