Polar Plunge at Crissy Field

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

If you woke up this morning disappointed by the lack of San Francisco snow, head on down to Crissy Field and get a taste of winter, Bayrea style. Today at noon, hundreds of people will be dipping into the bay for a good cause at the 2011 Polar Plunge. Each participant raises $50 or more to go towards the Special Olympics, dressed in carazy costumes to make diving into the frigid waters a bit more bearable.

If you’re feeling generous, or can find a sponsor for your $50 donation, then you too can jump in and freeze your ass off in the name of helping others. If not, just watch the action from the “warmth” of the shore and cheer on the brave plungers.

Alison Lambert - Half Price Headliner

Ali was born and raised in the Wholesome/Creepy capital of the world, Salt Lake City, UT. Once she was old enough to blow that pop stand she escaped to the place that was the anti-SLC: The Peoples Gay-public of Drugifornia aka San Francisco (holla 30 Rock!). You can now find her throughout this glorious city slurping Pho and scheming with her best friend Pinky doing what they do every night; try and take over the world.
