You Know You’re a Rich Douche When…

Have you ever dated someone that seemed to have it “together” at first, but then realize they actually just have a sickening sense of rich person entitlement? I have! Several times, for some reason. Here’s a list of things that had quickly put me over the edge:

1) Being particularly rude to cab drivers

It’s one thing to get upset at a cab driver for a legitimate reason–hey, even I have yelled at a cab driver for non-legitimate reasons (I was drunk and I thought he was trying to overcharge me, but really I’m an idiot) , but like it is another thing entirely to treat cab drivers as though they’re not people. Or that they exist solely to do your bidding. It’s gross, and I literally broke up with the guy directly after the incident.

2) Expecting that you can neglect your job at the drop of a hat

Some of us have to work, asshole. You know–to live? So that we’re not homeless. So, getting mad at me for not just dropping work to go to wherever is pretty fucked up.

3) Having more expensive bath and body stuff than me and being more high-maintenance generally

I have really long and thick hair, so it DOES take me a long time to do it legitimately. So, someone who has about 87% less hair than me should not take anywhere near to that long. Also, there’s something repulsive about spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on bottles of stupid hair shit– like, for anyone, ever.

4) Trashing your own hotel room

Nothing says incredibly wasteful and simultaneously immature like trashing your own hotel room. Like, you have to STAY there– WTF? Gross.

5) Thinking Brooklyn is “for poors”

Not only does this betray an utter ignorance to like, anything about what’s going on in contemporary New York culture/economy/everything, but like, why is it okay to shit on poor people? It’s not. The end.
