Enid’s, Can I Be Your Norm?

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

I pinky swear that I try to hit up new places. Blah blah blah variety is the spice of life or whatever.  But sometimes a gal just wants a staple, ya know? A place to imagine her own little Cheers-type scenario in which she’s not only greeted “hello” but also handed her favorite beer.  Enid’s, will you be my Cheers?

I will see you every Monday for happy hour prices 4PM-4AM. I will be there with a guacamole-smeared smile for your 2 Fish Tacos & Tecate or Tequila for $10 special on Tuesdays. I will even come and wait patiently for a seat at your crowded weekend brunch, sipping one of your redonkulous spicy Bloody Mary’s at the bar.

All I ask in return is that you keep loving me the way I love you. Let me keep sipping a couple beers while reading during the day without judgement. Keep making a pulled pork sandwich worth walking in the rain for. Keep playing Bowie at the Beep in its entirety. I am but a simple soul, but continue to do these things and my heart is yours.

Jill is an Ohio native and Boston University graduate who refuses to stop saying "pop" and wearing her Red Sox gear despite being heckled for doing so since moving to Brooklyn. She's been honing her thrifty ways since doing that silly thing people talk about when they ignore reason to follow their hearts and chose a career in the fulfilling but faltering music industry. She earns her beer money as a publicist and writer, and spends her spare time cooking, biking, and trying to decide if she's ready to get a cat.
