Classy Yet Cheap: Happy Hour at Kyo-ya

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Normally, Kyo-ya would be on the radar of no broke ass. Its only saving grace for people like us is its happy hour.

Kyo-ya has a great atmosphere and layout. It’s mellow and “modern”, if you will. There is also a pretty bitchin’, somewhat secluded room with leather chairs and benches surrounding a sizable flat screen. It’s like being in your own living room…minus the giant television and fancy furniture of course.

What’s really great is that while you mingle and watch sports you can enjoy their happy hour specials. Monday through Friday from 5:00p.m. – 7:00p.m. Kyo-ya offers three buck Sapporo draft and a twenty-something ounce larger Sapporo bottle for only six bucks. While you drink, munch on their FREE bar bites, which usually is only edamame. I know it isn’t very filling, but hell, it’s still FREE!

While Kyo-ya isn’t the most affordable for people like us, it is certainly a great place for a couple of beers and a few munchies after work.
