FREE This is the Kit Show tonight at The Delancey

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Hey, you there. Yes, you. The you sitting there wondering if you’re too old to make some kind of collage out of magazine clippings and give it to your mom as a holiday present to save money, or the you wondering if eating out for lunch will ever graduate beyond a $5 footlong from Subway. You’re a little strapped, and I get it. Fortunately, UK/Paris-based band This is the Kit gets it, too.

They (or, maybe she is more accurate–the band is essentially Kate Stables and whatever talented musicians join her) know most of NYC didn’t get a ticket to see them open for The National this Saturday at the Beacon, so they’re treating you to a FREE show tonight at The Delancey. They’ll give you a rich and earnest set of folk-tinted tunes that will make you forget all about the text messages you usually send during shows; as thanks, all you have to do is show them some love. And maybe buy some merch so they can treat themselves to a $5 footlong from Subway, too.

Hear track “Spinney” HERE and check out a performance on La Blogotheque HERE. The band also performs at Sycamore on Friday night.

This is the Kit
FREE. 8PM. Thursday, December 15th
at The Delancey (168 Delancey Street)
[Lower East Side]

Jill is an Ohio native and Boston University graduate who refuses to stop saying "pop" and wearing her Red Sox gear despite being heckled for doing so since moving to Brooklyn. She's been honing her thrifty ways since doing that silly thing people talk about when they ignore reason to follow their hearts and chose a career in the fulfilling but faltering music industry. She earns her beer money as a publicist and writer, and spends her spare time cooking, biking, and trying to decide if she's ready to get a cat.
