It’s Always Summer at Summer Place Cocktail Lounge

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

If you are ever searching for the perfect place to grab a drink on a mid-summer night’s eve – Summer Place Cocktail Lounge is the place to go. Not that there is anything summery about the joint – it has a fireplace, pasty patrons that you can barely see through the cloud of smoke and it is extremely dark inside. The good thing is that there is a jukebox that has pretty much every song you ever knew on it. There is an awesome woman bartender who pours a stiff drink and plays some kind of video game behind the bar. She is constantly chain smoking as well. I’m not exactly sure what the law says, but for some reason you are allowed to smoke at Summer Place because it was opened before a certain year so that the normal smoking laws don’t apply. Anyways – stop in for a cheap drink, a breath of stale air and some interesting conversation.
