So I’m pretty much just copying and pasting the press release into this post right now. I feel like a total dipshit doing this but I’m super slammed this week, so tough titties.  All the info for the event is below. You can win a pair of tix by emailing Contests@BrokeAssStuart.com. On Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 10:00pm at Public Works in San Francisco, the female superstars of the Bay Area Hip Hop community will join forces to present an unforgettable night of all female artistry. Sisterz of the Underground (SOTU) started on January 18, 2001 at The Justice League, now The Independent, with an all-female line-up representing all elements of Hip Hop culture. With it’s popularity, SOTU was voted Best Hip Hop Monthly of the year in 2001 from the SF Bay Area Guardian and won a G.O.L.D.I.E. Award for Outstanding Performance in 2004. Since its inception, SOTU has been packing the house with quality events.

The main event will feature an unprecedented line-up of the top females in all areas of Hip Hop and Urban Culture: KID SISTER (an American rapper on Fools Gold Records and based in Chicago, Illinois, well-known for her single “Pro Nails”, which features Kanye West); DJ SHORTEE (named “Queen of the Scratch World” by DJ Times and ranked the #1 female Turntablist/Hip Hop DJ Worldwide); BUTTERSCOTCH (internationally recognized vocal/beatbox artist, most popularly known from her appearance on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” as a finalist); LA FEMME DEADLY VENOMS (DJ Lady Fingaz, Best Emerging Hip Hop Artist from New Orleans Offbeat Magazine’s Best of the Beat Awards; Kat O1O, handles the Keyboards and plays with Crown City Rockers and Lyrics Born; and DJs Deeandroid and Celskiii, founders of Skratchpad, were KRS-ONE’s Tour DJs in 2004. Celskiii, Deeandroid and Lady Fingaz have also placed 2nd in the prestigious 2010 DMC USA Finals Team Battle); PANDORA (recognized as one of the best poppers/tutters around the world and featured in Step Up 3D and LXD –The League of Extraordinary Dancers, both directed by Jon Chu) TIFFANY BONG (award-winning, professional Hip Hop/Street dancer and H4’s All Styles “2 on 2” co-champion 2010). The evening will also feature a myriad of top female DJ’s including JEANINE DA FEEN (resident DJ at WILD 94.9), GREEN B (most known for establishing San Francisco’s most successful reggae night Coo-Yah Wednesdays) and PONY P (resident DJ at popular new music and fashion monthly event ‘La Femme Fatale’).

The daytime event held at CELLSpace in San Francisco at 12:00pm will feature dance workshops by Pandora and Tiffany Bong as well as a Traktor DJ software workshop and Q&A w/Dj Lady Fingaz along with a Maschine production workshop. Following the workshops, there will be a panel discussion covering topics of multiculturalism and female empowerment with members of SOTU chapters from San Francisco, Los Angeles, New Mexico, and Brazil.

Tickets for the main event are available for $12-$18 presale at www.sisterzunderground.eventbrite.com. Tickets at the door will be $20. Prices for the daytime workshops range from $15-$20 and can only be purchased at the door.
