I Just Wanna Dance – On My Lunch Break!

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

The Swedes are at it again. Not only have they taken over the furnishing of our country via Ikea, now they are influencing Americans to dance their lunch hour away. Come see what all the fuss is about at RECESS this Wednesday at Monarch. RECESS, the FREE new midday dance party brought to you by the merry pranksters at SunsetSF (Sea of Dreams, Silent Frisco, SF Funk Fest), aims squarely at the lethargic routines of round-bellied office workers and delirious dot-commers, prompting them to get ready to get sweaty…during the lunch hour.

RECESS follows the lead of Swedish forebearer, Lunchbeat, which places the urgency of movement and freedom from the workplace as top provisions for its dedicated dancers. Resident DJ Matt Haze and guests will provide tech-house beats for the implementation of this lunch phenomenon in the U.S. No cover will be charged for this inaugural edition and FREE vegetarian sandwiches will be provided so revelers don’t have to forgo nourishment to get their boogie on and make it back to their desks on time. And hopefully, won’t be too drunk to work!
