Code Tenderloin: Tech Job Training For Tenderloin Residents

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Code Tenderloin trains residents of the Tenderloin who face the highest barriers to employment and prepares them for employment into entry-level jobs and internships at San Francisco Mid-Market tech companies and local businesses.  They are raising money, so help spread the word.  You can find their IndiGoGo Campaign here,  and plenty of info on the project bellow or at their website: codetenderloin.com

Founded by Del Seymour, a 30-year resident of the Tenderloin, Code Tenderloin was started in September 2015 in response to what Del saw as a crisis — a crisis in joblessness, multi-generational poverty, and racial inequality in the tenderloin.

Code Tenderloin has navigated people through the most unstable life situations to find meaning and purpose through steady employment. The funds you contribute to our campaign will enable us to continue placing increasing numbers of determined people in quality jobs at tech, nonprofits, and local businesses.

Some of our placements include: Twitter Marketplace, Dolby, Lending Club, Wework, Google Express, Equator Coffee, Cala, The Hall, Gubbio Project, Tenderloin Museum, Swords to Plowshares, Q, Community Housing Partnership, Pianofight, Epicurean Group, AT&T Park, Macy’s, Goodwill, Planting Justice, Target, Round Table Pizza, Plor Electric, Dropbox, Housing Rights Committee, Janico Services, Block by Block, Marinello’s, Food Co, and Sutter Station.

“Our goal is to create maximum impact in the community and enable people to succeed in their careers and transform their life circumstances.”
