Running of the Bulls at Las Ramblas

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

We’ve all seen footage of bulls tearing through Pamplona in pursuit of drunken American tourists and others who thrill at the thought of telling almost-got-gored stories to chicks at the bar later that night.

Las Ramblas, the West Village tapas spot is celebrating this legendary event this week with 8 days of delicious cuisine from Navarra. Speciality drinks will include zurracapote, a rosé wine infused for one week with peaches, lemon rind, cinnamon sticks, and sugar. Sounds awesome.  The chef is originally from Pamplona and the menu is full of awesome small plates like roasted meatballs with garlic, manchego and oregano, chicken empanadas, and bocadillas crujientes (mini sandwiches or York ham, cheese and peppers) all for under 10 bones.

Lots of new and different stuff should be added for the next 8 days though, while they celebrate their hometown tradition.

Have a few drinks eat some sausages and Manchego and see if you can convince anybody at the bar that you once got gored in Spain and lived to tell the tale.
