Jackie Fielder is the Fresh Progressive Voice We Need in the State Senate

California D-11 State Senate candidate Jackie Fielder, like her incumbent opponent State Senator Scott Wiener, is out and proud. But there the similarities between the two candidates end. Unhoused Mission Man Brutally Stabbed, Now His Neighbor Helps Him Survive

The ‘shelter in place’ order is impossible to follow for the thousands of San Franciscans who have no shelter.  During a pandemic, people living on the streets have it worse than ever.  Shelters have been closed, and demand for food banks has exploded as tens of thousands of San Franciscans

Veritas, SF’s Biggest Landlord, Received PPP ‘Small Business’ Loan…& They’re Not Returning It

This isn’t the first shady thing that Veritas has done, not by a long shot. They’ve ‘allegedly’ harassed longterm, rent controlled tenants in order to try to get them out. They’ve ‘allegedly’ charged obscene rent increases to “cover rising maintenance and operations costs”. They’ve ‘allegedly’ maintained squalid building with lead-contaminated water and broken elevators. They’ve even ‘allegedly’ threatened to sue a housing nonprofit for a Facebook post they didn’t like. Mission District Landlord Still Kicking Out Small Businesses During Eviction Moratorium

Mayor Breed declared a moratorium on commercial evictions shortly after shelter-in-place went into effect, a bold move to help shut-down small businesses survive when unable to pay rent on April 1. Well, April 1 came and went and most businesses still have a glimmer of hope for survival to someday

Why Is SF Putting Homeless People into This Mass Indoor Camp?

Street Sheet just broke this story about how Mayor Breed has opted to use Moscone Center as a big indoor camp for San Francisco’s homeless population. While initially it sounds like a good idea to stop the spread of coronavirus, the details unfortunately prove otherwise. In fact, there’s a ton of
